What information is collected, why, how long it is kept and who has access.
1What information is collected
- When you send a booking request or an enquiry through this site, we collect what you write yourself: name, phone number, email address and the service you are asking about.
- We do not collect health information through general messages on this site. Patient records are kept in the practice’s own system under Act no. 55/2009 on health records.
- The site uses a necessary cookie to remember your language choice. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
2Why it is collected
- To contact you and confirm an appointment.
- To prepare for your visit.
- To meet the legal obligations that apply to healthcare providers.
3Legal basis
- Processing is based on Act no. 90/2018 on data protection and the processing of personal data, and on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- For bookings the basis is your agreement. For patient records the basis is a legal obligation.
4How long it is kept
- Enquiries and booking requests are kept for as long as needed to handle them.
- Patient records are kept for the period required by Act no. 55/2009.
5Who has access
- Staff at the practice who need access for their work.
- Service providers who run the technical infrastructure of the site, under a processing agreement.
- Information is not sold and is not used for advertising.
6Your rights
- You have the right to access the information we hold about you.
- You have the right to have incorrect information corrected.
- You have the right to have information erased, as far as the law allows.
- You have the right to lodge a complaint with Persónuvernd (personuvernd.is).
