A full examination, scale and polish, and a walk-through of what needs doing.
What is this?
An examination covering teeth, gums and bite. Tartar is removed and you get an overview of where things stand.
Who is it for?
For everyone, usually once a year. Also for people who haven't been in a long time and want to know where they stand.
What happens during the visit?
- 1You sit down and we go through your medical history.
- 2Teeth, gums and bite are examined.
- 3An X-ray is taken if needed.
- 4Tartar is removed and teeth are polished.
- 5We go through the findings and the next steps.
Does it hurt? What about anaesthetic?
The examination is not painful. Cleaning can be tender at the gumline; we can numb the area if you prefer.
Cost
The price covers a standard check-up with cleaning. If more is needed you get an estimate before we start.
After the treatment
You can eat straight away. Gums may be slightly tender for a day.

How often should I come for a check-up?
Usually once a year, more often if your gums are sensitive.
Is an X-ray always taken?
No, only when it adds something to the examination.
